Honorary Membership
This grade of membership is reserved for those personalities in the society who are outstanding in their humanitarian services as Philanthropist and landmark achievers in conflict resolution. They shall be Inducted as Honorary Fellows of the Institute.
Student: A person shall be registered as such with the Institute who has attained sixteen years of age and is either;
i. Undergoing suitable practical training as a pupil or an assistant in an office or establishment approved by the Council or
ii. Studying with a view to entering the Profession at such place or Professional instruction as the Council may approve.
A student may continue as such until he/she pass the prescribed examination approved by the Council or until the end of the training period for which he/she has been into that grade of membership whichever happen first. The council shall have the power to vary the period of studentship either generally or in a particular case. A student must be of good character and must not have been found guilty of criminal offense and/or grave misconduct.
Fellow Membership
This grade of membership is open to the pioneering Members of the Institute and for those who have distinguished themselves as professionals in their chosen fields particularly in peace building and conflict resolution management, etc. Such persons for this grade must prove that he/she has occupied an executive management position for not less than ten years and with qualifications like LL.M., M.Sc., MBA, Ph.D. and professorship in any field.
This grade of membership is open to the pioneering Members of the Institute and for those who have distinguished themselves as professionals in their chosen fields particularly in peace building and conflict resolution management, etc. Such persons for this grade must prove that he/she has occupied an executive management position for not less than ten years and with qualifications like LL.M., M.Sc., MBA, Ph.D. and professorship in any field.
By Direct Entry
This membership grade is for holders of the following qualifications: HND, B.Sc. LLB, M.Sc., PhD, or its equivalent in any discipline.
Staff of ministries and parastatals from level 08 and above, members of organized professional bodies.
By Examination
As soon as the Institute put in place the Institute professional qualifying exams, the Associate membership grade will only be open for candidates who have passed all parts of the qualifying examination and have also satisfied all the other requirements as prescribed by the board of Institute. All other qualification for this grade of membership shall be same as those specified for direct membership above. Members of this grade can use the prerequisite AMIFUH after their names.
Probationer: A person who must have been a Student but has not yet passed the prescribed examination of or other examination approved by The Institute, must be registered as a Probationer. Such a person may continue as a Probationer until the end of period ascertained as shall be determined by the Council from time to time.
i. The Council shall have the power to vary the period of attachment for probation either generally or in a particular case. A Probationer must be of good character and must not have been found guilty of criminal offense and/or grave misconduct.
